'Agney Grey' by Anne Bronte

No doubt the whinniest of the Bronte sisters (and/or siblings).

Filled with little sprinkles of insight but on the whole a more flawed piece compared to the productions of her gene pool.

(I know, I'm comparing her to her family's works.)

Still better than contemporary chic(k) lit.

  1. A typo in the title? :P

I wonder why all the sisters tried their hand at writing? And why is it whinier do you think? I mean, the only thing I can remember of Jane Eyre, was that it was like "Beauty and the Beast." *laughs*

Do you think though that your opinion of her being better than modern work is just because of the temporal factor and the change in standards?

You know, there's a girl here who reads heaps of Mills and Boon or something, not sure what it is exactly, but she says it's just romance novels, but I think I recall someone once telling me they're really cheap, lame, and they referred to them as "two-bits" or something similar.

Anyway, going to bed now. <3
