A paragon of classical gothic literature!
Written by an eccentric millionaire and laced throughout with the rococo-intricacy (or so I like to think of it) of classical oriental tales, Vathek is deemed to be one of the books you must read if you want to appreciate gothic literature. I sensed a lot of misogyny though and it's not just the polygamy!
