'Oroonoko' by Aphra Behn

I thought the narrator sounded apologetic. Although Oroonoko was depicted as noble, intelligent and brave, we must bear in mind that he was under the tutelage of a respected Frenchman. He possessed etiquette and values as they were defined by the Western society of that time. On the whole, a great effort from one of the first female writers of the west.
